On September 6, SGGP Newspaper published an article titled "Strictly handle the use of under-bridges for parking lots", reflecting the situation where some under-bridges in Ho Chi Minh City are being used for storing goods, parking motorbikes, etc., causing loss of urban aesthetics. In particular, some places have turned under-bridges into 24/7 parking lots, leading to unsafe bridge structures in case of fire or explosion.

After the newspaper published the article, on September 10, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction issued a document directing relevant units to handle the issue.
Accordingly, the Department of Construction requires road management units, enterprises, ward and commune People's Committees to urgently review and make a list of all parking lots under bridges. Complete the relocation before October 30 to ensure the safety of road infrastructure. Coordinate with traffic police, fire prevention and local authorities to inspect, prevent and strictly handle acts of using under bridges as illegal parking lots or violating fire prevention and fighting regulations.
Along with that, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City requested the People's Committees of wards, communes and related units to report the results of inspection and handling before September 13 to synthesize and report to the City People's Committee and the Ministry of Construction .
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction emphasized that this is an urgent task, directly related to the safety of people's lives and property and the sustainability of road infrastructure works. Heads of departments, units and Chairmen of People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones must focus on leadership, take responsibility before the City People's Committee and before the law if violations occur. Directive No. 6 of the Minister of Construction also fully regulates the management and use of road safety corridors and ensures fire prevention and fighting. However, in reality, in some localities, encroachment still exists, especially the fire at the parking lot under Vinh Tuy Bridge ( Hanoi ) on August 30, causing serious damage and potentially affecting the structure of the work.

Therefore, the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City is determined not to let the situation of using under-bridges for the wrong purposes recur, and at the same time closely coordinate with departments, branches, and local authorities in inspecting and handling violations, in order to ensure construction safety, urban aesthetics, and the legitimate rights of the people.
* Returning to the two parking lots under Ong Lon overpass on Nguyen Van Linh street (towards National Highway 1A, Binh Hung commune, Ho Chi Minh City), the local authorities, specifically Binh Hung commune, have yet to handle this illegal parking lot.
On the evening of September 10, SGGP reporters noted that dozens of cars of all kinds were still parked under the bridge. In addition to parking, part of the area was also used for coffee business and living.
Similarly, under Him Lam bridge connecting Binh Hung commune with Tan Hung ward (HCMC), parking activities still exist.
In the area under Dinh Bo Linh bridge (Binh Thanh ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the main road connecting National Highway 13 directly with Hang Xanh intersection, under this bridge there are many areas still occupied as a place to gather furniture, construction materials, waste...
