On September 4, the Border Guard Command of Quang Ninh province held a conference to award collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in dismantling a ring that organized illegal immigration of foreigners; commended forces participating in mission A80 for their outstanding achievements and awarded decisions to promote officers ahead of schedule. Colonel Vu Van Hung, Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard, awarded a certificate of merit to the force that destroyed the illegal human trafficking ring.
Previously, at 10:00 p.m. on August 31, the working group of the Van Gia Port Border Guard Station coordinated with the Border Guard Squadron 2 of the Quang Ninh Border Guard while on patrol duty and discovered and detained a composite-hulled motorboat without a license plate. This vehicle was equipped with 3 engines with a total capacity of 900CV, about 12.3m long and about 2.7m wide. At the time of inspection, there were 22 men on board, traveling from Chinese waters to Vietnamese waters, in Vinh Thuc commune, Quang Ninh province.
The two subjects, Luong Van Nam, born in 1995 and Nguyen Tien Hung, born in 1992, both residing in Mong Cai 1 ward, confessed to transporting 20 Chinese people from the wind turbine area (Chinese sea) to the Van Don special economic zone for a salary of 1,000 yuan/person.
Colonel Tran Van Thanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, awarded individuals participating in mission A80.
The successful dismantling of the illegal immigration ring affirms the determination of the Quang Ninh Border Guard force to fight against crime. This achievement not only contributes to firmly protecting national border security but also demonstrates high professional level, along with close and effective coordination in contracts between units in professional work.
Colonel Nguyen Quang Hoa, Commander of the Provincial Border Guard, presented decisions on promoting military ranks and raising salaries ahead of schedule to officers.
Also within the framework of the conference, the Border Guard Command organized an awarding ceremony for comrade Nguyen Quoc Nam, Chief of the Mong Cai International Border Guard Station, to advance his military rank from lieutenant colonel to lieutenant colonel; awarding the decision to raise his salary ahead of schedule to 5 officers; and awarding two comrades who participated in the A80 mission with outstanding achievements.
