According to Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang, the National Day holiday on September 2nd this year will last 4 days (from August 30th to September 2nd, 2025). On this special occasion of the whole nation, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, there will be many cultural and artistic activities, entertainment, and tourism stimulus with many diverse and attractive products with the 80 Hanoi experiences product set.
According to information from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, during the 4-day holiday on National Day September 2 this year, the city is expected to welcome nearly 2.1 million visitors, triple the number compared to the same period in 2024.
Of which, international visitors are estimated to welcome more than 80,000, up 35% compared to last year. Total tourism revenue during this time reached nearly 4.5 trillion VND, up 80% compared to the same period in 2024. During the 4-day holiday, Hanoi organized many activities to serve tourists, in addition to the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (A80).
Some typical activities attracting visitors on this occasion include “Ba Dinh Red” and a series of activities promoting tourism, culture and history of Hanoi; the exhibition of 80 years of the journey of Independence – Freedom – Happiness took place at the National Exhibition Fair Center – Dong Anh, attracting more than 1 million visitors in three days.
Hanoi welcomed a large number of tourists at many famous destinations: Hanoi Zoo and Thang Long Imperial Citadel each with more than 30,000 visitors, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam with 18,000 visitors, Hoa Lo Prison with more than 26,000 visitors, along with Co Loa, Ao Vua, Ba Vi National Park...
In particular, city tours and historical tours are sold out early. According to travel agencies, domestic tours account for 60% of total visitors, showing the strong attraction of tourism in the capital during the holiday.
Along with that, tourist areas and attractions in the City continue to organize vibrant and attractive cultural and artistic activities to attract tourists such as: Mapping Light Show Art Program at August Revolution Square (8:00 p.m. on August 15, 2025) and at Hoan Kiem Lake (7:00 p.m. on August 29 and 30, 2025); Art program with the theme "80 years - Proud of Vietnam" at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square (From 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., from August 30 to September 2, 2025);
Special art program "Hanoi - Forever shining Vietnamese aspiration" at the National Exhibition Center (8:00 p.m. on August 31, 2025); Special art program at My Dinh National Stadium (8:00 p.m. on September 1, 2025); Art program at Thong Nhat Park (from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on September 2, 2025);
Organize many attractive activities, introduce traditional culture of ethnic minorities through the highland market space and cultural and artistic activities to celebrate National Day of ethnic communities living at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture Village...
And especially the celebration, parade, and march of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 2025 and the fireworks display to celebrate this great celebration at 5 locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, Van Quan Lake, Thong Nhat Park, My Dinh National Stadium attracted a large number of tourists and people to Hanoi.
Also on this occasion, museums under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will open their doors for free to serve the people and international visitors from September 1 to September 3, 2025; the Vietnam National Military Museum will open its doors for free; the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater will also open its doors for free to serve the people, especially children, with water puppet shows and attractive art and music programs...
