Youth - the pillar of nurturing the special Vietnam - Laos relationship in the new era

In the exchange program "Former experts, former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Laos and the young generation of Vietnam - Laos" on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day, the leaders of the two Friendship Associations of Vietnam and Laos and the representative of the Central Youth Union all emphasized: the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos is a priceless asset built with the blood and sweat of previous generations, and today's young generation must follow in their footsteps and continue writing the history of solidarity in the new era.

The great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, founded by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong, has become an invaluable asset of the two peoples. Over the years, this rare relationship has been continuously strengthened in both breadth and depth, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries, contributing to peace , stability and development in the region as well as in the world.

We will always remember the great contributions and sacrifices of former Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers who fought side by side with the Lao people in the cause of national liberation. In particular, today's young generation needs to deeply understand the value of that loyal and pure tradition, so that they can clearly see their responsibility in preserving, protecting and promoting the special Laos-Vietnam relationship.

The Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to closely cooperate with the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, promoting propaganda and education so that the younger generation understands that the special relationship between the two countries was built with sweat, blood and tears, and no enemy can destroy it. This is the foundation for the youth of the two countries to continue, bringing the Laos-Vietnam friendship to further development in the new era.

The year 2025 has a special significance, associated with many important events of Vietnam, Laos and the Friendship Associations of the two countries: the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country; the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2; the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party; the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association and the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association, along with many other important events. Many diverse, rich and practical activities have been organized by the two Associations, actively contributing to consolidating and strengthening the Vietnam - Laos relationship. In particular, the two Associations pay special attention to educational and propaganda activities about the special friendship between the two countries, considering this a top priority task.

President Ho Chi Minh once affirmed that youth are the future masters of the country. In the current new period, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the role of the youth force has become even more important. Youth is the pillar to bring the country firmly into the new era. We hope that Vietnamese and Lao youth, regardless of their field, will always strive to study, practice, master knowledge and science and technology, while at the same time respecting and promoting national cultural identity, preserving the great tradition of friendship and special solidarity between the two countries.

Youth Union organizations need to continue to enhance exchanges, understanding and tighten special solidarity; have many specific and effective measures to strengthen cooperation in all fields, especially promoting exchanges and cooperation between youth and young entrepreneurs of the two countries, making worthy contributions to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two States and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

Under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the people of the two countries have achieved great victories in the cause of national liberation, national reunification, construction and defense of the Fatherland. Among those glorious achievements, there are active and significant contributions from the youth of Vietnam and Laos, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union associated with revolutionary action movements in each period.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union attaches special importance to the friendship and cooperation between the youth of the two countries and realizes that it is necessary to continue to make more efforts to develop this relationship to a new level in all fields and cooperation contents. Over the years, the Youth Unions of the two countries have organized many friendly exchange and cooperation activities in many fields with many diverse and rich forms.

In the coming time, I believe that the Youth Unions of the two countries will together consolidate and develop comprehensive cooperation, increase delegation exchanges, expand exchanges, train future cadres, create an environment for youth to share experiences, support each other to progress together. Thereby, directly contributing to the sustainable development of each country, while at the same time fostering the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to be forever green and sustainable.

We hope to continue to receive the attention, leadership, direction and facilitation of the two Parties and States, as well as the coordination and support of the two countries' Friendship Associations. This will be a great source of encouragement for the Youth Union and youth of the two countries to promote the spirit of initiative and creativity, constantly foster the loyal and steadfast friendship, and bring the Vietnam - Laos youth cooperation relationship to become deeper, more practical and more effective.
