The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction aims to start 20 traffic and technical infrastructure projects that play a role in connecting and developing urban areas in the last three months of 2025.

Among them, many large-scale projects play a role in connecting the region such as metro line 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong); investment project to complete the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway intersection with National Highway 50; Ring Road 2; construction of Nguyen Khoi bridge and road (old District 4); project to build an underpass at Phuoc Kieng intersection (National Highway 13 through old Binh Duong );

Upgrading and expanding the road to Dau Tieng Lake tourist area; upgrading and expanding Noi Bai - Phuoc Tan road (DT992 section from National Highway 51 to Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway)...

In addition to the 20 key projects that will start construction, in the last quarter of the year, Ho Chi Minh City will also complete and put into use 25 major projects. Among them are projects of interest such as the An Phu intersection project; Luong Dinh Cua Street (section from Tran Nao intersection to Nguyen Hoang Street); Chu Van An Street; My Phuoc - Tan Van extended road; component project 3 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway construction investment project phase 1...

The Department of Construction committed that specialized agencies will shorten by 30% the time for appraisal and approval of investment projects for projects with allocated capital in 2025, especially large capital projects and key works in 2025, ensuring disbursement reaches 100% of the assigned plan.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the total public investment capital plan assigned by the City to the Department of Construction is 39,778 billion VND. The disbursement value is estimated at 23,866.8 billion VND, equivalent to 60% of the plan.

Along with projects preparing for operation and groups of projects about to start construction, the city is also preparing to invest in a series of key infrastructure projects, such as the Thu Thiem - Long Thanh railway connecting to Long Thanh airport; metro project No. 1 connecting the new city of Binh Duong - Suoi Tien; metro No. 2 connecting from Thu Dau Mot ward to Hiep Binh ward (old Thu Duc); Bau Bang - Di An railway and the waterway transport system along the corridors of the Saigon River and Dong Nai River...

In addition to transport infrastructure, from now until the end of 2025 is also the time when Ho Chi Minh City will drastically accelerate investment in social housing and renovate canals.

According to the Department of Construction, Ho Chi Minh City is gradually converting the low-rise housing model to modern high-rise. This agency is continuing to perfect the investment and construction process, ensuring the target of completing 13,040 social housing units in 2025. Of these, there will be 2,874 units in the old Ho Chi Minh City; 8,274 units in the old Binh Duong and 1,919 units in the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

The Ben Thanh - Tham Luong metro line is 11.2km long, including 9 underground stations, 1 elevated station, 1 depot; it is the longest radial metro line in Ho Chi Minh City to be deployed, after metro line 1, with a total investment of about 47,890 billion VND.
On September 9, the Management Board of Urban Railways (MAUR) announced that it had approved the consulting package for the preparation of the adjusted feasibility study report, front-end engineering design (FEED) and bidding for the main packages of the project. This is the package that paves the way for the entire metro line 2 project to enter the acceleration phase.

(China) - Southern Transport Design Consulting Joint Stock Company - Marine Technical Port Design Consulting Joint Stock Company - ARTELIA SAS, won the bid, with a value of more than 175 billion VND, implementation time of 12 months.
The consultant is responsible for preparing an adjusted feasibility report (additional scale, converting capital from ODA to city budget), updating technical designs to suit reality and supporting bidding to select construction contractors...
