Lesson 4: Spreading the spirit of kindness

From shelters of love, scholarships to silent hearts of sharing, the movement for the poor has been lighting up the spirit of charity in the community. Many advanced examples from the movement have contributed to spreading the tradition of "mutual love and support" of the Vietnamese people.

Promoting the tradition of "mutual love and support"

With the motto "No one is left behind", localities promote care for poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households.

As a place where the strength of national solidarity converges, the Vietnam Fatherland Front always affirms its central role in implementing social security work. With the motto "no one is left behind", the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has implemented many practical programs to support poor and near-poor households and disadvantaged people to rise up in life. In Tay Ninh , that spirit is concretized through meaningful movements that spread deeply and widely in the community.

Notably, the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" was deployed deeply and widely and brought about clear results. By the end of May 2025, the whole province had completed 924 Great Unity houses, of which 774 were newly built and 150 were repaired, with a total value of more than 73.1 billion VND, reaching 100% of the set plan.

Not stopping at building and donating houses, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels also coordinates to organize many charitable activities such as awarding scholarships to poor and studious students, providing free medical examination and treatment to people, giving gifts on holidays and Tet, etc. These activities contribute to reducing the burden on families in difficult circumstances, while at the same time arousing the spirit of sharing in the whole society.

Along with that, the campaign “All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas” was deployed with the participation and active response of the people. Thereby, not only contributing to beautifying the appearance of rural and urban areas but also arousing the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance in the community.

Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Trinh affirmed: “Great solidarity is not only a precious tradition of the nation but also the strength for us to overcome all difficulties. The Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels always considers the work of caring for the poor and the disadvantaged as a central task. What is valuable is that the campaigns and emulation movements attract the participation of the entire political system, businesses, religions and all classes of people. That consensus creates a great resource, strongly spreading the spirit of "mutual love and affection", humanity overflowing in each locality and each community”.

Accompanying the poor

The Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels coordinates to organize free medical examination and treatment for people.

The emulation movement "For the poor - No one left behind" has been spreading deeply and widely across the country, becoming an important driving force in the journey of sustainable poverty reduction, building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Responding to the movement, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) Bac Long An Branch is a typical unit, always attached to and sharing with the community through many meaningful activities. Notably, the program to support the construction and elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households and policy families in the province.

Implementing the direction of the Government and the Provincial Party Committee, Agribank Bac Long An Branch considers social security work not only a community responsibility but also an important political task. Responding to the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide in 2025, the Branch's staff and employees unanimously contributed to the implementation with specific, practical and humane actions.

Director of Agribank Bac Long An Branch Phan Tan Luan said: “We believe that supporting the removal of temporary houses is not only a responsibility but also a gesture of gratitude to the community. The branch closely coordinates with local authorities to conduct thorough surveys to select the right beneficiaries, while strictly monitoring the progress and quality of the project. Each house when handed over must be solid and of guaranteed quality so that people can live with peace of mind and have more determination to move forward.”

From that joint effort, 83 Great Solidarity houses were built and handed over to poor and near-poor households in localities with many difficulties with a total cost of 5 billion VND fully sponsored by the Bank. For many families, this is not only a roof to protect from the sun and rain but also a solid foundation to "settle down and make a living".

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (resident of Duc Hue commune) emotionally shared: “Before, my family lived in a dilapidated thatched house, which was leaky and hot. Now that we have a new, solid house, we are very grateful. This is the motivation for my family to work with peace of mind and move forward in life.”

Not stopping at the house building program, Agribank Bac Long An Branch also actively carried out many other social security activities with a total amount of nearly 8 billion VND. The unit sponsored ambulances for Duc Hoa Regional Medical Center; built houses of gratitude and love for policy families and poor households; supported cultural - tourism programs, disaster relief as well as cared for the poor during Tet.

That success affirms the spirit of “for the community” of Agribank Bac Long An Branch - a bright spot in the emulation movement for the poor. Not only bringing solid homes, the unit also spreads profound human values, contributing to improving people’s lives, accompanying the province in the process of sustainable poverty reduction and building an increasingly prosperous homeland./.
