Nguyen Thi Oanh scored a golden hat-trick at the 2025 National Athletics Championships

Nguyen Thi Oanh (Bac Giang) continued to show her domestic dominance in long-distance events, winning another gold medal at the 2025 National Athletics Championship on the morning of August 12.

This time, the "golden girl" of Vietnamese athletics competes in the 10,000m event. With extensive experience, Nguyen Thi Oanh wisely uses the "hide from the wind" tactic.

For most of the time, she often ran behind athletes like Pham Thi Hong Le, Le Thi Tuyet, Bui Thi Thu Ha. Then in the final stage, good physical strength and sprinting ability helped Nguyen Thi Oanh break away, winning overwhelmingly.

She finished with a time of 33 minutes 56.11 seconds, winning the gold medal. The runner-up was Le Thi Tuyet ( Dak Lak ) with a time of 34 minutes 5 seconds. The bronze medal was won by Bui Thi Thu Ha (Thanh Hoa), with a time of 35 minutes 28.42 seconds.

Meanwhile, Pham Thi Hong Le ( Gia Lai ) only finished fourth, after 36 minutes 2.42 seconds. Since leaving the national athletics team, her performance has also gradually declined significantly.

As for Nguyen Thi Oanh personally, this is her third gold medal at the 2025 National Athletics Championship, after winning the 1,500m and 5,000m events.

She still has one more event to compete in, the 3,000m steeplechase, and will likely win because this is the event Oanh is strongest in both the country and the international arena.

Also on the morning of August 12, the women's 400m hurdles final took place. On a track without many worthy opponents, veteran athlete Quach Thi Lan ( Thanh Hoa ) easily won the gold medal with a time of 56.98 seconds.

Le Thi Tuyet Mai (Nghe An) came in second with 58.79 seconds, while Ha Ngoc Tram (Can Tho) came in third with a time of 1 minute 0.65 seconds.
