Previously, on September 4, 2025, Tien Phong electronic newspaper published an article: "Rice prices drop sharply, farmers are restless". According to the article, rice prices in the Mekong Delta are falling sharply, causing traders and businesses to slow down purchasing, while farmers worry about losses. Exports are also showing signs of slowing down after the Philippines temporarily suspended rice imports.
Regarding this, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to study the above information, preside over and coordinate with the State Bank of Vietnam and enterprises to find appropriate solutions to maintain sustainable production, direct and guide enterprises to organize the purchase of rice for temporary storage, seek to expand new markets to stabilize rice prices, and support farmers.
