Domestic SJC gold and gold ring prices continuously set new peaks. |
At 8:30 this morning, Saigon Jewelry Company Limited - SJC listed the price of SJC gold bars at 78,200,000 - 80,700,000 VND for both buying and selling, this is the highest price of SJC gold ever.
Compared to the peak set on December 26, 2023, the price of SJC gold bars today is about 400,000 VND higher in the selling direction, while the buying direction is about 800,000 VND lower per tael. The difference between buying and selling this morning is still high, about 2.5 million VND.
The price of gold rings also continued to set new peaks. On the morning of March 2, Bao Tin Minh Chau's gold rings were traded at around 66,660,000 - 67,860,000 VND for both buying and selling. Although gold rings set a new record in price, the difference between buying and selling prices did not fluctuate too much. The gap between buying and selling prices of gold rings is currently around 1.2 million VND/tael.
The domestic gold price has skyrocketed partly due to the increase in world gold price. On the world market, at around 6:30 a.m. on March 2 (Vietnam time), on Kitco, the spot gold price was at 2,082.55 USD/ounce, up 38.29 USD/ounce.
World gold prices rose sharply and hit a two-month high as the US dollar reversed and fell below the 104 mark when recent data showed a gloomy economy , reinforcing investors' expectations that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will ease monetary policy in June.
Although domestic prices have continuously increased and reached new peaks, according to experts, gold buyers need to be cautious of risks because the difference between domestic and world gold prices is high, about 19 million VND, and the difference between buying and selling prices is also high, which can be disadvantageous for gold investors when the market fluctuates.
