Vietnamese Catholics: "Live a good life, follow your religion", accompany the nation

Member of the Politburo , Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien attended and spoke.

Attending the Congress were more than 300 delegates who are excellent examples, examples of "Good people, good deeds" among Catholics.

Spreading patriotism among Catholics

In his opening speech, Father Tran Xuan Manh, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, emphasized the outstanding achievements of the patriotic emulation movement in the 2020-2025 period. The movement has attracted a large number of Catholics to participate, making positive contributions to socio -economic development.

Many practical activities such as solidarity to help each other develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, and charity and humanitarian movements have been effectively implemented. Thereby, more and more typical and advanced examples have appeared in production labor, economic development, helping each other reduce poverty, promoting charity and humanitarian activities. The material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved, contributing to repelling social evils, maintaining political security, social order and safety.

Reporting on the activities of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee and the patriotic emulation movement among Vietnamese Catholics in the period of 2020-2025, Father Nguyen Van Rien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, said that in the period of 2020-2025, the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics in provinces and cities has achieved many positive results, affirming the role, position and important contributions of Catholics to the cause of building and developing the homeland and the country. The movement has been widely deployed, creating many creative and effective models.

In particular, the emulation movement "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and live a good life and follow the religion" associated with 8 contents launched by the Central Committee of the Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics has achieved practical results with profound political, economic, cultural and social significance.

In the period of 2025-2030, the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee and provinces and cities will continue to coordinate to propagate, gather and mobilize Catholics to promote the tradition of loving their homeland and country, unite with the nation, enhance the responsibility of citizens, promote capacity and intelligence, and actively participate in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien warmly commended the outstanding results that Vietnamese Catholics have achieved in the 2020-2025 period.

Emphasizing that the patriotic emulation movement, chaired by the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee, has strongly spread the spirit of respecting God, loving the country and dedicating to the community, comrade Do Van Chien affirmed that the efforts of Catholic compatriots in three main areas: economic development, building cultural life, and social security and charity activities, have made important contributions to the overall development of the country. Those actions are a living testament to the aspiration to "live a good life, live a good religion" and "live the gospel in the heart of the nation", at the same time, are a solid foundation for building a country of "rich people, strong country, democracy, justice, civilization, happiness".

Entering a new phase, comrade Do Van Chien suggested that the Catholic Solidarity Committee and all Catholics together deeply absorb the Pope's teachings: "Vietnamese Catholics are good citizens. Vietnamese Catholics must be patriots, accompanying the nation to build prosperity and happiness."

The Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also requested the Catholic Solidarity Committee and all Catholics to continue spreading the spirit of patriotic emulation widely; join hands with the entire Party, people and army to enter a new era; renew thinking, create breakthroughs, and successfully implement the Party's major policies and the State's policies and laws.

Comrade Do Van Chien suggested that the Catholic Solidarity Committees at all levels should promptly implement the specific directions and solutions proposed at the Congress. In particular, it is necessary to closely follow the grassroots, promote cooperation with State agencies and social organizations to effectively implement emulation movements, especially the movement of "all people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, live a good life, and follow religion".

Comrade Do Van Chien also suggested that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Catholic Solidarity Committee and the delegates attending the Congress together recall and spread the affirmation of General Secretary To Lam in his speech commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2: "Under the glorious flag of the Party, with the light of Ho Chi Minh guiding the way, relying on the strength of the people and the great national unity bloc, there is no difficulty or challenge that our people cannot overcome, there is no noble goal that our people cannot reach."

“I hope that the valuable experiences and practical lessons learned from today's emulation congress will be a solid foundation for the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics to continue to develop more strongly, more widely, and increasingly go into depth and form thousands of "good people, good deeds" flowers in the colorful flower garden of the Vietnamese people,” Comrade Do Van Chien emphasized.

At the Congress, many collectives and individuals were commended and rewarded for their implementation of patriotic emulation movements.

The congress launched the emulation campaign for the 2025-2030 period, with 8 contents and 5 implementation solutions. The congress called on Catholics and all people to realize the aspiration of building a prosperous and happy Vietnam.
