According to the report of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the exhibition "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" opened on August 28. In 13 days (August 28 to September 9), there were about 6.68 million visitors, of which the peak day exceeded 1 million. Many international delegations visited, including the high-ranking delegation of Laos led by General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith; the high-ranking delegation of Cambodia led by President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the Senate Hun Sen, along with military delegations from Russia, Laos, Cambodia, Cuba and many embassy delegations. The exhibition attracted widespread attention from the people and international friends, affirming its professionalism, modernity, rich content and vivid form, leaving a good impression.

As planned, the closing ceremony of the exhibition will take place on September 15. At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong reported on the preparations for the closing ceremony and the emulation and reward. Representatives of ministries, branches and localities also contributed their opinions on the program, agreeing to propose increasing the number of certificates of merit and appropriate forms of reward for groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the exhibition.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the close, urgent and serious coordination of the Steering Committee members, ministries, branches and localities in the organization process, contributing to the success and influence of the exhibition.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the key tasks from now until the closing ceremony, assigning the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to prepare the best content and conditions to organize the closing ceremony to ensure scale, solemnity, efficiency, safety and economy; complete the summary report, comprehensively evaluate the results and lessons learned; select typical exhibition spaces; certificates and gifts for participating units; develop the program and script for the closing ceremony to report to the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for inviting international guests and embassies to attend the closing ceremony, arranging interpretation and foreign reception work.

The Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Health, and the Hanoi People's Committee ensure security, order, and health for the event.

The Ministry of Home Affairs implements commendation work, guides ministries, branches, localities and enterprises to continue implementing individual commendation forms according to their authority.

The closing ceremony was broadcast live on VTV and VOV channels.

Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam coordinated to broadcast the closing ceremony live, ensuring quality and effectiveness.

Vingroup Corporation prepares facilities, reception, and logistics to serve delegates. Ministries, branches, and localities carry out settlements in accordance with regulations, strictly and effectively, avoiding waste.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the closing ceremony is not only a ritual to conclude an event but also an opportunity to summarize, draw lessons, affirm the success of the exhibition and spread the message about the achievements of 80 years of building and developing the country. Therefore, preparations must be thorough so that the closing ceremony takes place solemnly, safely, economically, ensuring national stature.
