Before the iPhone reshaped the mobile market, the world witnessed the dominance of Nokia "brick" phones or unique folding and sliding phone models. Among them, BlackBerry was one of the typical names. This company's phones possessed a typical physical "QWERTY" keyboard and modern email features, among many other utilities.

The arrival of the iPhone marked a new era, causing keyboard phones to gradually disappear from the market. However, this situation may be about to change as a Chinese company is trying to bring BlackBerry back.

BlackBerry Classic, also known as BlackBerry Q20, was launched in 2014 and uses the BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system. 11 years after its launch, a company called Zinwa Technologies is ambitiously reviving this legend by equipping it with completely new internal components.

The information was revealed in an interview between the YouTube channel “Returning Retro” and a representative of Zinwa Technologies. Accordingly, the company expressed its desire to help BlackBerry return to the market. To realize this plan, Zinwa Technologies is purchasing remaining batches of the old Q20 model, including used devices and products remaining in stock in the supply chain in Hong Kong.

Zinwa Technologies doesn’t simply resell BlackBerry Q20s as-is. Instead, the devices undergo a modernization process with new internal components like a new motherboard, new cameras, and new batteries.

The company will retain some components such as the screen, keyboard, notification LED, and outer shell. Zinwa revealed the official name for the refreshed BlackBerry Classic model is Zinwa Q25. This name is a combination of the company name (Zinwa), the letter Q from BlackBerry's original name, and the number 25 representing the year 2025 - the expected launch date of the device.

In terms of configuration, the Zinwa Q25 will be equipped with a MediaTek G99 Octacore chip, with a clock speed of up to 2 GHz and a 4G modem - equivalent to current popular smartphone models. The device will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, along with a MicroSD card slot.

Notably, the Zinwa Q25 has a powerful camera upgrade. The front camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels, while the main camera boasts 50 megapixels. In addition, the body will integrate a USB-C port.

Despite many upgrades, the Zinwa Q25 still maintains the classic BlackBerry design. The Zinwa still retains the 720x720 pixel LCD screen with touch capabilities, along with the characteristic physical keyboard and familiar case.

The company also notes that the Zinwa Q25 won’t receive many system updates. This is a special project aimed at true BlackBerry enthusiasts, not a regular product line.

Customers can now order the complete device for $400 . Notably, those who want to customize their Q20 themselves will have the option to purchase the package for $300 .

The kit allows users to assemble and modify the device themselves. The first Zinwa Q25s are expected to be delivered in early August.
