Red Rain is the biggest hit in Vietnamese box office history
According to data from The Box Office Vietnam, Red Rain continues to hold the box office throne, earning 82 billion VND last weekend, bringing its total revenue to 558 billion VND after 17 days in theaters. The film has about 4,600 screenings per day, still completely overwhelming other blockbusters.
Currently, Red Rain has surpassed Mai’s revenue (551.2 billion VND) to achieve the highest-grossing film in the history of the Vietnamese box office. If it maintains its performance, the film can quickly surpass the 600 billion VND mark, gradually establishing a new record, and at the same time, it is enough to attract theaters for 2-3 months.

Red Rain was released at the right time when the whole country celebrated the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2nd, and was fueled by the national spirit, boundless patriotism and curiosity of the audience, along with the context of the film market not having many films about history, war, and revolution. All of the above factors combined to help Red Rain bombard the box office, continuously breaking records.
On Facebook, director Dang Thai Huyen shared on the evening of September 7: "We are grateful and thankful to the millions of viewers who came to the theater to watch and support Red Rain .
We have the desire to tell his father's story with all the sincerity of an artist, but it is the audience who completes that story, adding a living soul to Red Rain , so that the film is not only in the frame, but also a beautiful and memorable journey."

Director Trung Lun said that after listening to feedback from the audience, the crew shortened the lengthy passages, focusing on the climax while still ensuring entertainment.

Ranked third at the box office is Ghost Bride, with about 1,000 screenings per day, opening revenue of 7.6 billion VND - a modest number compared to the film's large investment scale.
