Accordingly, this year's tournament brings together 10 teams, 2 more than last season, including: An Phu, Khanh Hanh Tay Ninh , Nha Trang, Sahako, Saigon Eminence, Saigon Titans, Tan Hiep Hung TP.HCM, Thai Son Bac, Thai Son Nam TP.HCM and Xa Warriors.
The teams are divided into two groups, playing a round robin to determine rankings. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals, from which the final and third-place matches will be determined.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau - Deputy General Secretary of VFF, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament said: "The National U20 Futsal Tournament is an important playground for clubs to invest more in youth training.
At the same time, it opens up opportunities for young Futsal talents to assert themselves, aiming to become professional players, creating a successor resource for the national Futsal team and promoting the development of Vietnamese Futsal."
The matches in round 1 were very exciting, witnessed many beautiful goals, opening a season that promises to be dramatic and emotional.
In Group A, U20 Thai Son Nam TP.HCM won the first 3 points after a 4-2 victory over U20 Sahako. The most impressive was U20 Saigon Titans, the team that had an explosive performance to defeat U20 Xa Warriors 6-2.
In Group B, U20 Tan Hiep Hung TP.HCM defeated U20 An Phu with a close score of 4-3, while defending champion U20 Thai Son Bac affirmed its strength with a 6-1 victory over U20 Saigon Eminence.
The second round matches will take place on September 9.
