Voters highly agree with the plan to merge administrative units in the 2023-2025 period.

Information from the Department of Home Affairs said that there were results of synthesizing voters' opinions on the merger of administrative units in Quang Tri in the period of 2023 - 2025.

Accordingly, in Gio Linh district, over 99% of voters who were consulted agreed to merge Linh Hai commune and Gio Son commune to form a new commune named Gio Son. 52.2% of voters in Ha Thanh village, Gio Chau commune agreed to merge this village into Gio Quang commune, the new commune name is still Gio Quang, while 99.8% of voters in Gio Quang commune agreed to this plan.

The plan to merge Ha Thuong and Ha Trung villages, Gio Chau commune into Gio Linh town, the new administrative unit name is still Gio Linh town, has 90% of voters agree. 94.3% of Gio Viet commune voters agree to the plan to merge this commune into Cua Viet town and keep the name of Cua Viet town. Gio Viet commune voters suggest that after the merger, the names of the villages be kept to name the neighborhood. This rate with Cua Viet town voters is 63.75%.

In Trieu Phong district, the plan to merge Trieu Son commune and Trieu Lang commune to form Trieu Co commune received over 91% of voters' approval. The percentage of voters agreeing to merge Trieu Van commune and Trieu An commune to form Trieu Van commune was 85%.

In Hai Lang district, 80.5% of voters agreed to merge Hai Que commune and Hai Ba commune to form Hai Binh commune.

After consulting local voters, the People's Councils of the communes met and voted. As a result, over 90% of the People's Council delegates of the communes agreed with the above merger plan. The People's Councils of the districts that were consulted also met and highly agreed with the merger plan, with over 96% of the votes.

In addition to agreeing to the plan to merge administrative units of Quang Tri province in the period of 2023 - 2025, many voters requested competent authorities to support fees and charges related to administrative procedures such as changing information on land use right certificates, citizen identification cards, health insurance and other related documents.

The leader of the Department of Home Affairs said that the consultation of voters on the plan to merge administrative units of Quang Tri province was carried out in an orderly and objective manner, recording all the wishes of the people. In the near future, the Provincial People's Committee will report the results of the consultation of voters and the voting results of the People's Councils of administrative units related to the merger to the Provincial People's Council for consensus.
