(Dan Tri) - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) requires localities to evacuate tourists to safe places and instruct ships at sea not to enter dangerous areas.

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 3 (Wipha), on July 19, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung issued an urgent dispatch requesting departments and affiliated units to proactively deploy response plans to ensure the safety of people, tourists and assets under their management.

Telegram sent to the directors of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOC), departments of culture, sports and tourism in the following provinces/cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Hanoi; heads of agencies and units under the Ministry.

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the directors of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Department of Tourism of the above provinces/cities to proactively monitor the situation and developments of the storm.

Units need to closely coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities in the area to review and inspect all tourist accommodation establishments and tourist attractions, especially coastal areas, islands, and areas at risk of landslides and flash floods.

The local culture, sports and tourism sectors coordinate to organize propaganda and evacuate tourists to safe places.

Units need to develop plans to respond to storms and floods, implement evacuation and shelter measures, and ensure the safety of tourists, especially international tourists.

"Localities need to strengthen inspection, review, and implement plans to ensure safety for people and property at cultural and sports institutions, historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, and tourist areas and spots in the area.

Based on the actual situation and the potential impact of storms and floods, proactively decide or advise competent authorities to direct the temporary suspension of recreational, entertainment and tourism activities in the locality," the telegram stated.

In addition, to help people proactively prevent and respond to heavy rains, floods, landslides, and flash floods, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests the Department of Press, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, and the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information to direct press, media, and grassroots information agencies nationwide to organize propaganda, broadcast, and report promptly on forecasts and warnings about storm developments, and direct storm response so that local authorities at all levels and people can monitor and update regularly.

In particular, special attention should be paid to reporting news articles warning people about the risk of floods, landslides and preventing diseases that may arise due to floods.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also requested heads of units under the Ministry in the above localities to closely monitor forecast information and developments of storms, rain and floods to deploy response plans, ensuring safety for people and property managed by the unit and activities organized by the unit.

Therefore, it is recommended that civil servants, public employees, and workers limit going out during storms and heavy rains and floods.

The Construction Investment Project Management Board directs contractors to implement measures to ensure safety for construction works, and prepare available forces, means, and materials to respond to and overcome consequences caused by storms and floods (if any).
