On the evening of July 20, the leader of Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, said that 10 more people had just been transferred to the emergency room, bringing the total number of suspected cases of food poisoning after eating a death anniversary party in Phong Dinh ward, Hue city to 19.
Currently, 10 newly hospitalized cases aged 35 - 76 are being treated at the Emergency Department and Tropical Diseases Department of Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, with a diagnosis of acute gastroenteritis.

Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, mobilized additional personnel to serve in classification and monitoring to treat patients.
On the same day, the Hue City Department of Health sent a working group to coordinate with Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, to grasp the patient's situation, exploit epidemiology and verify related contents.

Accordingly, the patients all attended a death anniversary party at 11am on July 19 at the grave opening area in My Xuyen residential group, Phong Dinh ward. The menu included jellyfish salad, shrimp, steamed squid, grilled chicken, grouper hotpot and yogurt. Some people ate a second time at around 6pm the same day, after the food was reheated.
The meal was organized with about 6 trays, with about 50 people attending. Most of the patients ate all the dishes in the meal. X.D Restaurant in Phong Dinh Ward prepared the dishes.
After about 15 hours, from 2:00 to 5:00 a.m. on July 20, many people showed symptoms such as fever, abdominal cramps, loose stools, and vomiting.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Kiem Hao, Director of Hue City Department of Health, said that they are continuing to coordinate with Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, to update and monitor the situation of patients related to the incident in order to continue to have appropriate intervention measures in accordance with regulations.
