Vietnam beat Laos 5-0 in 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers

On the evening of March 25, in the first match of Group F, Round 3 of the 2027 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese team won an overwhelming 5-0 victory over the Lao team.

Unlike the friendly match against Cambodia a few days ago, the Vietnamese team showed a very different side. Their playing style was cohesive and harmonious. The pressure that the Vietnamese team created made the Lao goal wobble from the very first minutes.

Minh Khoa was the first to fire a shot when he entered the penalty area and then shot wide of the post in the 6th minute. After much pressure, the home team finally opened the scoring in the 11th minute. From a cross from the right wing, the Lao defender fumbled the ball. Chau Ngoc Quang was there in time to tap the ball into the empty net.

The goal helped the Vietnamese team play more confidently. The Lao players were almost huddled in their own half, unable to attack.

Tien Linh, Hoang Duc and Hai Long took turns shooting. Goalkeeper Lokphathip had a hard day as he kept making saves. But in the 44th minute, he was helpless and had to pick the ball out of the net for the second time.

Hai Long was the one who dribbled the ball skillfully and then finished with his left foot, hitting the crossbar. Van Vi was there at the right time to head the ball in to raise the score to 2-0.

The Nam Dinh defender completed his double in the 50th minute of the second half, after dribbling and finishing with finesse. At this point, the Lao players' stamina also declined, causing them to fall apart.

In the 63rd minute, Hai Long put his name on the scoreboard with a beautiful left-footed curler. Quang Hai sealed a big 5-0 victory for the Vietnamese team with a powerful volley from just 6 meters into the penalty area.

This result helps coach Kim Sang Sik's team have a favorable start after the first match of Group F, Round 3 of the 2027 Asian Cup.
