Accordingly, this morning at around 7:30 am, the Khanh Hoa Province 115 Emergency Center received an emergency call from a resident reporting that a man had difficulty breathing after swimming in the sea (Tran Phu beach, near Tram Huong Tower area) and came ashore with symptoms of difficulty breathing, cyanosis, and then unconsciousness. Three minutes after the call, the 115 emergency team, including: Doctor Nguyen Tri Tam, Bachelor of Nursing Truong Ly Huong Giang, and driver Nguyen Tuan Thien Vu, arrived at the scene. When the team arrived, patient TVT (67 years old, Nha Trang ward) had fallen into a deep coma (Glasgow 3 points), cardiac arrest, complete respiratory arrest, pupils not responding to light; there was still sand on his body, no nasal or oral secretions. The patient was diagnosed with respiratory arrest suspected to be due to cardiovascular disease. The team performed emergency treatment on the spot with external chest compressions; intubation, oxygen balloon injection; Adrenaline injection (1mg) via endotracheal tube and vein. After 10 minutes of resuscitation, the victim began to have a pulse again, a gasp reflex, and a pale pink skin color. The patient was immediately transferred to the ambulance and taken to the Emergency Department, Khanh Hoa General Hospital. Here, under the active treatment of the medical team, the patient regained consciousness, opened his eyes, flexed his limbs, and breathed weakly on his own; vital signs were stable with a pulse of 110, blood pressure of 160/80, and SpO₂ (oxygen saturation index in peripheral blood) improved. After that, the patient was transferred to the Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department for continued treatment and monitoring.

Doctor Le Tran Anh Thi said: As soon as he discovered the patient crawling out of the water and collapsing on the sand in a state of respiratory arrest and cyanosis, Mr. Tran Do Trong Dai immediately initiated the emergency chain of external cardiac compressions; performed artificial respiration, called 115 (turning on the loudspeaker) and mobilized local people to support. Without Mr. Tran Do Trong Dai's first aid skills, the victim would not have had a chance to survive. The successful emergency case demonstrates the crucial role of initial first aid in the community - a vital factor before the professional team arrives.
