From 5am every day from June 24 to 27, Mr. Truong Nguyen Minh Tuan's vegetarian restaurant (next to Alley 1, Nguyen Hue Street, Bac Lieu City) started its fire earlier than usual to prepare hot meals for the candidates and their parents. This is a job that Mr. Tuan has been quietly maintaining for over 5 years, with the simple wish of "helping his children do well in the exam".
What is special is that although the shop is usually closed on the 2nd and 16th of the lunar month, this year, June 26th falls on the 2nd - one of the 2 official exam days, he still decided to open, breaking the rules to continue serving the "special customers". Not only is there enough food and soup, but on the last 2 exam days, he also thoughtfully prepared red bean sweet soup as a wish of luck to the candidates.
Also during the exam days, in Dong Hai district, the volunteer group of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hong (teacher of Ganh Hao High School) was busy preparing hundreds of free meals for poor students taking the exam. This is the 10th year that Ms. Hong and her colleagues and benefactors have organized the "support for exam season" activity at the exam site of Dien Hai High School.
Starting with just a few dozen home-cooked meals, Ms. Hong’s volunteer group has strongly spread the spirit of sharing, and has increasingly received contributions from businesses and benefactors. This year, more than 400 free meals not only help the candidates feel full but are also a loving gift sent to the students. “Loving my students, I just hope to contribute a small part to help them feel secure during the important days of their student life,” Ms. Hong shared.
In the middle of exam season, those simple actions have given strength to the candidates, so that they are not alone on the journey to reach their dreams.
