Hanoi Police Club's main striker injured before trip to China

Hanoi Police Club may not have the service of main striker Alan Grafite in the match against Beijing Guoan in the AFC Champions League Two group stage on September 18.

"Alan Grafite is injured and is temporarily absent from the match list," head coach Alexandre Polking shared after the Hanoi Police Club won 2-1 against Hai Phong on the evening of September 13.

In the early match of round 6 of V-League 2025 - 2026 at Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi Police Club under the leadership of Coach Polking narrowly won against Hai Phong without the service of main striker Alan Grafite. Quang Hai and Leo Artur were the ones who scored for the Police team.

After this match, Hanoi Police Club will go to China to prepare for the opening match of Group E of AFC Champions League Two (Asian Cup C2). Coach Polking's team will meet Beijing Guoan on September 18.

If Alan does not recover from his injury (specifically his thigh), this will be a big problem for the Hanoi Police Club. Because Alan is currently the best striker in Vietnam's professional leagues, with 5 goals, 1 assist after 3 matches in the V-League and 1 goal after 1 match in the ASEAN Club Championship (Southeast Asia Cup).

Including the goal scored in the National Super Cup, Alan currently has 7 goals in all competitions and is showing the most terrifying scoring form among domestic and foreign strikers in Vietnam at this time. Last season, Alan won the V-League Golden Boot with 14 goals.

Commenting on Beijing Guoan - the opponent considered the strongest in the Asian Cup group, coach Polking emphasized: "This match will be very difficult because Beijing Guoan is a team with a lot of experience and depth. We will enter the field with careful preparation and the best mentality."
