Speaking at the training course, Nguyen Hoang Nhat, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnamplus Electronic Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency), said: The digital media environment has been changing all areas of social life, forcing the press to quickly change towards social connection to regain its leading position, attract the public and customers, and increase the effectiveness of propaganda tasks. Currently, in the digital transformation strategy of the press, 100% of press agencies report on digital platforms and currently 70% of the Vietnamese population has social media accounts, so social networks are increasingly developing.

Social media is the trend of the digital age today. No one can deny its importance to the development of journalism. And no journalism strategy can ignore social media communication if it wants to improve its position.

The training course aims to support students in equipping them with basic knowledge of social media marketing; sharing basic steps to build a communication campaign, an effective communication channel on social networks, helping students to supplement their ability to identify target audiences, choose social media channels; create content strategies and the ability to evaluate effective information using images on social networks.

The training course “Building effective communication channels on social networks” is the 5th program in the 4th year of implementing the project “Supporting the development of Vietnamese journalism” in the period 2020 - 2024. Over the past nearly 4 years, the School of Training and Fostering Information and Communication Management Staff in collaboration with the Department of Press, the Department of Radio and Television has successfully organized more than 30 activities including organizing training courses, forums on technology, journalism, book publishing, etc.
