Vietravel Group expands operations in India

According to a VNA reporter in New Delhi, on the evening of November 14, Vietravel Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MakeMyTrip - India's leading online travel platform, aiming to attract more Indian tourists by offering a unique combination of exciting holiday packages.

Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Ambassador of Vietnam to India; Mr. Tran Doan The Duy - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Group; Mr. Ngo Minh Quan - Director of Foreign Market Division of Vietravel Group; Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong - Head of Tourism Promotion Management Department, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Vice President of Vietnam Culinary Culture Association; Mr. Jasmeet Singh - Director of Holiday and Experience Commerce at MakeMyTrip; Mr. Riaz Munshi - President of the Association of Outbound Tour Operators of India and representatives of many Indian and Vietnamese companies. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai reviewed the developments in the relationship between Vietnam and India in all fields. Regarding the field of aviation connectivity, he said that from 6 flights before the COVID-19 pandemic, the two sides now have about 65 direct flights operated by airlines from both countries. The Ambassador was pleased to announce that a few weeks ago, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and India agreed to increase the frequency of flights from major cities in each country from 28 to 42 direct flights, thus paving the way for better travel and more opportunities to explore cultural and tourist destinations between the two countries. Thanks to the direct flights, connectivity between the two countries has never been easier with e-visas being applied to all Indian passengers with multiple entries within 3 months with a short flight time of 4 hours. In the tourism sector, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai said that Vietnam is emerging as one of the most sought-after destinations for Indians. This has contributed to the increase in the number of Indian tourists to Vietnam with 392,000 last year. In the first 10 months of this year alone, there were 395,000 Indian visitors to Vietnam. Currently, India is among the Top 6 countries with the highest number of tourists to Vietnam. Vietnam expects that this year there will be more than 500,000 Indian tourists visiting Vietnam. Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai expressed his hope that with the efforts of Vietravel Group, travel companies from Vietnam and India will continue to explore mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities, contributing to creating a solid pillar for tourism in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India. For his part, Mr. Jasmeet Singh said: "This cooperation highlights our commitment to enriching the travel experience for Indian tourists with customized and unique packages. By working together, we ensure that Indian tourists will enjoy the full range of diverse services in Vietnam. Our joint efforts will make every trip to the resort a memorable adventure." Also at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong, on behalf of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, thanked Indian partners for their continuous support of Vietnam as a tourist destination. Through videos and photos, guests were immersed in the space to enjoy the scenery, cuisine, culture, history, and hospitality of the Vietnamese people. He said that in the coming time, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism aims to make efforts to enhance the image of Vietnam as a leading destination for Indian tourists through joint marketing campaigns, tourism promotion and cultural exchanges, thereby promoting close cooperation with partners in India to bring seamless and unforgettable travel experiences to all Indian tourists.

To give guests a real experience, Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong brought to the ceremony melodious traditional music performances by zither artist Vu Thi Kim Yen and monochord artist Nguyen Hoang Linh; along with dishes that are both rich in Vietnamese flavor and meet the culinary needs of Indian guests such as chicken pho and vegetarian spring rolls. At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Minh Quan and Mr. Jasmeet Singh represented Vietravel Group and MakeMyTrip Group respectively to sign the MoU under the witness of Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai, Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong, Mr. Tran Doan The Duy, Mr. Riaz Munshi. The MoU signing took place in the context that earlier on the same day, Vietravel - one of the leading travel operators in Vietnam specializing in providing domestic and international flights, hotels and combos - officially opened Viet India Travel Pvt.
