Rihanna breaks all maternity fashion standards, not afraid to wear see-through clothes

Since announcing her pregnancy in 2022, singer Rihanna has redefined maternity fashion in her own way. She boldly broke traditional norms, pioneering a bold and seductive 'showing off her baby bump' style.

According to Harper's Bazaar magazine, over the past decade, Rihanna has always been a fashion icon that makes fashionistas constantly admire her from her outfit combinations, body shapes to her choice of accessories.

Forbes once ranked Rihanna as the richest female singer in the world with an estimated net worth of about $600 million in 2019. In recent years, most of her assets have come from her business in the fashion and cosmetics industry.

At the 2018 Met Gala, the priestly outfit designed by John Galliano stunned the fashion world. The see-through fishnet and crystal dress that Rihanna wore at the 2014 CFDA fashion awards became a classic, causing a stir that prompted stylist Mel Ottenberg to detail the creative process behind it.

But it's her pregnancy appearances that really show Rihanna's fearlessness and her ability to push the envelope.

While pregnant with her first child, Rihanna wore a Dior babydoll dress with a ripped lining, proudly revealing her baby bump.

Rihanna's second pregnancy also got off to a flying start at the 2023 Super Bowl. She wore an all-red outfit, including a jumpsuit and bra from Loewe. Her Alaïa trench coat and Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross sneakers helped her stand out.

And while pregnant with her third child, Rihanna continued to dazzle the public at the premiere of The Smurfs in Los Angeles. She wore a Saint Laurent dress that combined all the elements that make up her signature maternity style: lingerie inspiration, a statement of personality, and of course, a leather jacket.

Rihanna completely rejects the usual expectations society places on pregnant women that they have to find clothes that "fit their changing bodies."

She did the opposite: she used her clothes to accentuate her belly. She made her clothes revolve around her, the message she wanted to convey. She refused to be the stereotypical image of a fragile mother about to give birth. With every choice she made, she asserted: "I am in control, I decide who I am."

Vogue magazine commented: "At this point, we have to ask: is this the "best-dressed pregnant belly in history"? The answer is almost certainly yes. The coolest mother in the fashion industry".
