Meritorious Artists Nguyen Thanh Tung and Ai Hang leave a beautiful mark in Hanoi
In the solemn and proud atmosphere of the National Achievement Exhibition "80 years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" at the National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), the space "Radiant Can Tho - New position, new vision" has become a special cultural meeting place, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every day.
Among them, the participation of two Meritorious Artists Nguyen Thanh Tung and Ai Hang with Southern Vietnamese Don Ca Tai Tu (ĐCTT) performances resounded in the heart of Hanoi, leaving a deep impression of a river delta region that is both rustic and rich in identity.
Nguyen Thanh Tung – Preserving the soul of the South
Can Tho City's exhibition space is located in the "Rich Province, Strong Country" area, highlighted by a welcome gate simulating Can Tho Ancient Market - a symbol of cultural, commercial and historical exchange.
Meritorious artist Nguyen Thanh Tung said: "Inside, the imprints of 80 years of resilience and development of Can Tho are recreated through three themes: Old Can Tho, Resilient Can Tho (1945-1975) and Can Tho - Central City of the New Era. Amidst the flow of artifacts and documents, visitors find a small "island" built into a stage, where the sounds of instruments and songs filled with human love resound."

Meritorious artisan Nguyen Thanh Tung and Meritorious artisan Ai Hang, along with many other artisans from Can Tho, have truly created a bridge for regional cultural and artistic exchange, and are loved by the capital's audience.
The traditional music brings the atmosphere of floating markets, boats, and wharves to the North. Meritorious artist Ai Hang emotionally shared: "It is a great honor for us to bring the music and songs of our Southern homeland to our Northern compatriots in an important event of the country.
Southern folk music is not only art but also the memory and soul of the Southern people. Every song and sound of the instrument we perform today comes from the pride of contributing a small part to the overall picture of the Fatherland in the journey of 80 years of independence, freedom and happiness."

Meanwhile, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thanh Tung said: "The capital's audience has a lot of affection for Don Ca Tai Tu, which makes us very moved. Through the vọng cổ verses and the Tài Tử songs, we want to send a message: Can Tho is not only dynamic and modern, but also carries within itself deep cultural values, connecting the past with the present and looking towards the future."

And for Meritorious Artist Ai Hang, each performance in the program gave her many more memories. During this trip, she and Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thanh Tung sang a duet: 20 Xang xe verses in the fourth rhythm "Hello Can Tho - Young City" (Author Trong Huynh), 20 Xang xe verses in the fourth rhythm "Net duyen tham" (Author Nguyen Hoai Van) and the song "Dong song que em" (Author Huyen Nhung).
Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thanh Tung performed traditional songs: "Love of a mat seller", "Southern milk fruit tree"... and received enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

Can Tho’s exhibition space not only recreates history, but also opens up a vision of the future. The science and technology interaction area is designed like a runway, with an airplane model symbolizing the desire to reach far.
Here, visitors can access many innovative models: drones serving high-tech agriculture, semiconductor chip technology, educational robots, virtual reality technology… – proof of a Can Tho that innovates and integrates strongly.

The center of the space is a model of the Hung King Temple in Can Tho City, a spiritual connection between the North and the South, symbolizing the sacred bond of the nation. In addition, clusters of historical, geographical, economic and cultural books are arranged in the shape of the 80th anniversary logo, as a reminder of the resilient and creative journey of the land and people of Can Tho. In particular, the stage area "on the wharf, under the boat" with models of boats, floating markets and typical products such as Vinh Chau purple onions, Cau Duc pineapples, "Pia" cakes, custard apple tea... creates a complete experience for the senses of sight, taste and hearing.

This exhibition, according to the Government's Official Dispatch, will last until September 15, 2025 to meet the needs of people nationwide. As two core members of the Southern ĐCTT movement in Can Tho, two excellent artisans Nguyen Thanh Tung and Ai Hang have created a beautiful impression in the capital Hanoi, contributing to creating a radiant Can Tho and expressing the spirit of preserving traditional identity, both affirming the new position - a dynamic and creative central urban area of the Mekong Delta, and being an example for the younger generation to follow.
