DNO - On the morning of September 17, the Da Nang Department of Tourism coordinated with the Da Nang Tourism Association to organize a donation drive to support people in the northern provinces and cities to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.

According to Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh, in recent days, storm No. 3 and its aftermath have caused heavy damage to people and property in the northern provinces and cities. The Da Nang tourism industry would like to express its deepest condolences to the families of those who died or were injured, and share the difficulties with families who lost their homes and property.

Promoting the tradition of solidarity, with the spirit of mutual love and support "Love others as you love yourself", "The whole leaf covers the torn leaf" and responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the call letter of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang city on mobilizing and supporting people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, the Department of Tourism of Da Nang has mobilized civil servants, employees of the Department of Tourism, Da Nang Tourism Association, member associations and businesses operating in tourism services in Da Nang city to join hands to support people in the northern provinces and cities to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.

At the fundraising event, the Danang Department of Tourism, Danang Tourism Association, member associations and tourism businesses raised a total of more than 2 billion VND.

Of which, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) donated 500 million VND; Viet An Group and First Real 500 million VND; Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park and DHC Group staff 300 million VND; Silver Shores Investment and Development Company Limited - Crowne Plaza Da Nang Hotel 100 million VND; M Hotel 100 million VND; staff, workers of the Department of Tourism, Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, Son Tra Peninsula Management Board and Da Nang tourist beaches over 73 million VND; Da Nang Hotel Association 60 million VND; Da Nang Travel Association 30 million VND; Da Nang Tourism Transportation Association; Da Nang Tour Guide Association 40 million VND...

Ms. Hanh added that the sharing and support at this time is a great source of encouragement, demonstrating the noble sentiment of compatriots, contributing to reducing pain, supporting people in disaster-stricken areas to soon restore production and stabilize their lives.

After the fundraising event, the Department of Tourism called on the Da Nang Tourism Association and businesses to continue spreading humanitarian actions and the spirit of mutual love, mobilizing staff and workers of the unit to participate in supporting people in the northern provinces and cities to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3 until October 10, 2024.
