Currently, there are many increasingly sophisticated and complex fraud methods. Accordingly, bad guys impersonate banks, police agencies to make calls, send messages, emails; or use accurate personal information to create high trust to commit fraud. They will ask to provide sensitive information or transfer money for "verification". Or notify that the account has credit risks that need urgent handling, as well as the form of deceptive request to verify information to avoid locking the account. Fraudsters also threaten the law with the crime of "money laundering" or "credit violations"; advertise debt cancellation, quick loans with 0% interest rate aimed at students and workers.
The State Bank of Vietnam recommends that customers should be cautious and verify information from suspicious messages, calls, emails, OTP messages... or those containing strange links.
Regularly change your PIN, e-banking login password, log out of your e-banking account immediately after completing a transaction. Regularly check your transaction history to promptly detect any irregularities. Follow recommendations from banks and authorities through official channels.
When receiving debt collection calls, account freeze notices, money transfer requests, or suspected fraud.
