MU confirms Maguire's future

Centre-back Harry Maguire is attracting interest from two Saudi Pro League clubs before the country's summer transfer window closes.

The Sun reports that Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr and another Saudi Pro League team are considering Maguire. The Saudi transfer window closes on September 23, creating an attractive opportunity for Maguire if he wants a change of scenery.

However, MU has no intention of parting with Maguire, who has one year left on his contract with the club and has expressed his intention to fulfill this commitment. The English midfielder also said he would be willing to stay if the club wanted to sign a new contract.

West Ham made an offer to sign Maguire this summer, but the deal never materialized. The centre-back decided to stay and fight for a regular place in the squad.

Manager Ruben Amorim also trusts Maguire, despite having plenty of defensive options such as Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt, and Lisandro Martinez. Maguire has appeared in two of United's three Premier League games this season, although he has yet to start. He was also on the bench in the most recent match against Burnley in the third round of the Premier League.

In the second round of the League Cup, Maguire also played the full 90 minutes in the surprising defeat to Grimsby Town on penalties.

In the 2024/25 season, Maguire made 27 appearances for MU, scoring 1 goal.
