On July 18, Mr. Le Cong Son - Deputy Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center - said that the unit had just completed the installation of a tempered glass system inside Thai Hoa Palace, where the Nguyen Dynasty throne and many valuable treasures are located.
The tempered glass system is about 1.7m high, completely separating the main area of Thai Hoa Palace from the two sides of the palace.
Visitors can now only enter from the sides of the temple and exit through the back.
With this transparent tempered glass system, visitors can only stand from afar to observe the national treasures inside the Thai Hoa Palace such as the Nguyen Dynasty throne, the canopy, two bronze dragons cast during the reign of King Thieu Tri... instead of being able to get closer like before.

According to Mr. Son, the installation of this tempered glass system is to minimize incidents similar to the incident in May when tourists climbed over the fence, sat on and broke the Nguyen Dynasty throne.
In addition to the tempered glass system, the treasures inside this most important palace of the Nguyen Dynasty are also protected by a surveillance camera system and a 24/7 security force.
