
Visiting facilities 1 and 2 of the Center for Caring for People with Meritorious Services in Da Nang City, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan listened to a report on the center's operations, and listened to the thoughts and aspirations of wounded soldiers, veteran revolutionaries, and people with meritorious services living here.
The Center for Caring for Revolutionary War Retirees of Da Nang City was established on July 1, 2025 on the basis of merging the Center for Caring for Revolutionary War Retirees of Da Nang City and the Center for Caring and Nursing Revolutionary War Retirees of Quang Nam Province. The Center currently has 2 facilities, which can ensure regular care for 120 wounded soldiers and lonely revolutionary war retirees in the city. Of which, facility 1 is located at 64 Phan Tu Street, Ngu Hanh Son Ward; facility 2 is located at 99 An Duong Vuong Street, Hoi An Tay Ward.
Currently, the center is caring for, nurturing, and treating 88 meritorious people, of which facility 1 has 45 elderly people and facility 2 has 43 elderly people; the elderly people have an average age of 82 years old, the oldest meritorious person is 100 years old and the youngest is 58 years old; of which, 37 people cannot take care of themselves.
The leaders of the Center for Caring for People with Meritorious Services in Da Nang City proposed that the People's Committee of Da Nang City, departments and branches pay attention to and amend regulations, expand the subjects of meritorious services and their relatives to receive regular care, concentrated at the care and nursing facilities. Continue to allocate regular funds, medium-term investment sources for 2026-2030 to maintain, repair and modernize facilities and equipment to serve meritorious services and their relatives at the center for on-site care and rotational care.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan sent his regards to the wounded soldiers, veteran revolutionaries, and people with meritorious services to the revolution who are living at the center. At the same time, he expressed his gratitude for the great contributions of the wounded soldiers and people with meritorious services to the cause of national liberation and reunification. He hoped that in the coming time, the center's staff would continue to promote their sense of responsibility, strive to fulfill their assigned duties and tasks; contribute to the implementation of the Party and State's policies, and show gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations in the cause of national liberation and protection of the Fatherland.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that in recent times, Da Nang City has always paid attention to and implemented well the policy of "Repaying gratitude" to war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution; the treatment regime for people with meritorious services to the revolution is increasingly improved. He requested that relevant departments and branches regularly pay attention, hold regular meetings with the elderly, listen to their thoughts and aspirations, advise and propose to the government to promptly direct and handle difficulties and problems.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Center for Caring for Revolutionary War Recipients of Da Nang City organized annual rotational nursing for about 3,500 revolutionaries in Da Nang City and welcomed about 500 revolutionaries from other provinces for nursing. By July 1, 2025, the center had invited and organized 11 nursing sessions for revolutionaries at facility 2 with 1,257/3,120 sessions. Of which, nursing at the center was 1,141/2,842 sessions (achieving 40.15% of the plan); nursing from other provinces: 116/278 sessions (41.73% of the plan). From now until the end of 2025, the center will continue to invite and organize about 15 nursing sessions with 2,091 sessions.
