Earlier, around noon of the same day, the authorities received a report of a forest fire from local residents, occurring at lots 9, 11 and 166, plot 1, sub-area 1, Phong Thanh commune, Phong Dien town (old). Immediately afterwards, the Regional Forest Protection Department mobilized vehicles, machinery and more than 200 people from the forest rangers, police, militia, local youth... to quickly approach the scene and deploy fire fighting measures. The burnt forest area is a planted forest, belonging to Project 661 of many local households with more than 9 hectares burned and nearly 30 hectares affected.

Due to the hot and windy weather, at this time, the forces were assigned to create a fire barrier; at the same time, bring in machinery and equipment to extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to other areas. After more than 2 hours, the burned forest area was controlled and extinguished.
