Closely associated with voters in the most dynamic megacity in the country, the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City has left many clear impressions, contributing to affirming the position and role of the National Assembly in the political, economic and social life of the country.

People's work as our own

The National Assembly deputies of Ho Chi Minh City have spent a lot of time listening to and understanding the aspirations of the people, helping competent agencies resolve the problems of citizens from the smallest issues. At citizen receptions that lasted for hours, the fact that the National Assembly deputies of Ho Chi Minh City patiently listened to the worries, concerns, and frustrations of voters has become a bright spot in the activities of the National Assembly deputies.

On July 22, 2025, Comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation, received citizens related to the issuance of land use right certificates. This case has been going on for a long time but has not been completely resolved. Or one of the outstanding cases is the involvement of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation Unit No. 6 in resolving the difficulties that have lasted more than 20 years of the Vinh Loc residential area project. Thanks to the persistent supervision and recommendations of the National Assembly Delegates in the group, the project has started construction of the central park area, completing phase 1 in 2023, bringing a new look to the residential area, with green space and community amenities.

Having received citizens with dozens of pages of complaints many times, National Assembly Deputy Tran Kim Yen shared that there were cases where citizens wrote complaints but were unclear about the purpose, so the National Assembly Deputy instructed them to rewrite the complaint. After finishing the complaint, the citizen realized that the issue was just a matter of frustration and not worth complaining about, so he thanked the National Assembly Deputy and left.

In another case involving a family conflict, the people filed a complaint with the police, the ward People's Committee and all the way up to higher levels. After reviewing the records, it was found that the resolution process of the competent authorities was in accordance with regulations, but due to frustration with the attitude of the officials, the people still decided to "sue to the end".

Receiving such cases, the HCMC National Assembly Deputies analyze each content, explain the provisions of the law, and at the same time evoke family relationships, emotions and Vietnamese national moral traditions. At the same time, they work with local leaders to find a prestigious person in the family, organize mediation, and finally everything is resolved satisfactorily, the lawsuit ends.

According to National Assembly Deputy Tran Kim Yen, the above stories show that resolving people's pressing issues not only requires compliance with legal regulations and resolution procedures, but also demonstrates the responsibility and important role of National Assembly deputies in listening and putting themselves in the position of the people to understand. Listening to know what the people want, understanding to have a reasonable solution method, in accordance with the law and the nature of each case.

Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Van Loi shared that in the 2021-2026 term, the work of people's petitions is identified as one of the breakthroughs, with the application of information technology to monitor petitions and strengthen connections with the local administrative system, promptly urging the settlement of complaints and denunciations, contributing to maintaining social stability from the grassroots. The social security activities of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation are focused on promoting, spreading the spirit of responsibility, sharing, and attachment to voters and people.

Today (August 8), the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City met to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026) and summarize the activities of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2021-2026. The meeting took place at Thong Nhat Hall.

Strengthening public reception and thematic supervision

Along with the work of meeting voters and citizens, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation always identifies supervision as a key and central task in its activities. At National Assembly sessions, the delegation always demonstrates a sense of responsibility, actively participates in questioning sessions, explains and supervises important issues of the country.

With a deep understanding of local realities and the thoughts and aspirations of voters, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation has sent sharp questions to members of the Government , going straight to the heart of the shortcomings and limitations in state management. Many questions have been seriously accepted by the Government and ministries and branches, contributing to the definitive resolution of issues of concern to voters in the city.

The Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation held a conference of the 15th Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation on July 15.

The leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation affirmed that the delegation will continue to innovate and improve the quality of citizen reception; promptly handle complaints, denunciations, recommendations, and reflections of citizens in accordance with regulations and supervise the settlement of these complaints. The delegation will continue to strengthen supervision activities, focusing on monitoring and urging the settlement of recommendations after supervision and survey.

Huynh Thi Phuc, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation, said that in the coming time, the delegation will continue to organize a thematic survey on building digital government, reforming administrative procedures in the entire process, online, regardless of administrative boundaries in Ho Chi Minh City; thematic survey on the implementation of the National Assembly's resolutions on public investment contents...

At the same time, research, contribute ideas for amendments and supplements to continue perfecting Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi Minh City and other contents, contributing to removing difficulties and obstacles. Thereby contributing to effectively exploiting potentials, advantages and mobilizing resources to meet the requirements of sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time.

During its term, the Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation received more than 400 citizens, received and processed more than 6,500 complaints, denunciations, reflections and recommendations from citizens.
