New song release - Offshore fishing - by singer Truong Thao Nhi Composition and performance are controversial.

“I am passionate about playing/ I play without rest/ I invite you to come over and have a meal, I invite you to eat/ When I am done, I swim out to sea to play/ To fish far from shore” - excerpt from a song by Truong Thao Nhi.

The point that attracts attention is the rhyme "c", which is also the controversial part: "There was a fish that bit the hook/ Pulled the fishing rod and bent it/ The fish bit the hook angrily/ The fishing rod and bent it/ The fish still bit the hook/ Still bit the hook/ Still bit the hook/ The more the fish bit the hook/ The more it bit the hook/ The more it bent the rod".

Truong Thao Nhi causes controversy because of her new song.

Many netizens criticized the lyrics of this song as meaningless, with many parts unclear, and the audience had to turn on subtitles when watching.

“Listening to Vietnamese people sing in Vietnamese, I have to stare at the subtitles”, “Vietnamese music is such a disaster now”… On the contrary, some audiences think that the song still has many commendable points if we consider the whole song. “The music is catchy, the lyrics are not so meaningless. Truong Thao Nhi’s music has always been quirky” - the audience commented.

Before Truong Thao Nhi’s song, Do Phu Quy’s MV Pickleball received negative reactions from the public, being criticized as a disaster. However, the music unexpectedly created a fever, with many people saying that this song was “so bad that it was addictive”.

Singer Truong Thao Nhi said she had been thinking about this song for a long time and spent nearly a year refining the idea. The pronunciation of the letters "c" and "k" was inspired by Vietnamese pronunciation exercises, which is also the highlight of the song and the challenge the singer wants to send to the audience.

Truong Thao Nhi was born in 1992, known to the audience when participating in The Voice of Vietnam (2012) and won the runner-up prize Best song (2016). The female singer attracted attention when collaborating with Truc Nhan in the MV Four words . After this project, Truong Thao Nhi did not have many impressive projects.
