Intel determined to dethrone Nvidia in the AI ​​market

Now, Intel's senior vice president of the Data Center and AI group, Justin Hotard, claims the company envisions creating an "open ecosystem" that would allow them to support the entire AI market and hopefully eliminate the industry monopoly that Nvidia currently enjoys.

"AI is the biggest change since the internet," Justin said in a statement at the first-ever Intel AI Seoul Summit 2024 in South Korea. "Intel's strategy involves building an open ecosystem with everything from PCs to data centers. This allows other companies to use Intel Foundry for semiconductor fabrication, allowing Intel to support the entire AI market."

Justin also reiterated the company's commitment to building strong relationships with Korean companies like Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, stating that they will play a key role in the future of the AI ​​market. The company is optimistic about the future of the AI ​​market, saying that the technology will shape the vision of every other company to ensure that they pay due attention to AI.

This seems to suggest that Intel may see Korean companies as a business opportunity as rival Nvidia focuses on Taiwan. This is not because companies are biased towards the region, but because Intel has traditionally preferred to work with Korean companies like SK hynix, which supplies HBM memory for the company's Gaudi accelerators.
