Indonesia won the championship, helping Vietnamese men's volleyball team win the silver medal at SEA V.League 2025

On the evening of July 20, in the final match of the SEA V.League 2025 men's event, Indonesia defeated Thailand 3-2 (27-29, 25-15, 25-23, 22-25, 15-14) to win the championship of stage 2. The result of this match also helped Vietnam finish in 2nd place.

After an impressive 3-1 victory over the Philippines in the afternoon, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team still has to wait for the result of the match between Indonesia and Thailand to determine their final ranking in this year's SEA V.League 2025.

With the nature of the final match deciding the championship, both Thailand and Indonesia entered the match with determination. Right in the first set, the two teams pushed the match to a climax with a thrilling 29-27 victory for the Thais.

Despite losing the first set regretfully, the home field advantage helped Indonesia play with more determination. The three attackers Rivan, Boy and Farhan played brilliantly, and the archipelago team won the next two sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-23.

This result made the rest of the match less meaningful as Indonesia had at least 1 point and was crowned champion of the second stage of SEA V.League this year. As for Thailand, they not only lost their chance to win the championship but also could not take the second place from Vietnam.

Even though they entered set 4 without any goals, Thailand still played with determination, won and brought the match to set 5. However, Thailand still lost 2-3 with the scores of the sets being 29-27, 15-25, 23-25, 25-22 and 13-15 respectively.

This is a somewhat surprising result as Thailand is the defending champion of SEA V.League for 3 consecutive rounds (2 rounds in 2024 and round 1 in 2025). However, the 2-3 defeat to the Vietnamese team caused Thailand to fall behind in the championship race this year, sadly watching Indonesia crowned the champion. The Vietnamese men's team won the silver medal and Thailand won the bronze medal.

With the Vietnamese team, after last year's season losing 6 matches and finishing last in both stages, coach Tran Dinh Tien and his students improved their performance with a bronze medal in stage 1 and a silver medal in stage 2 of SEA V.League 2025.
