(CLO) The delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association , led by Permanent Vice President Nguyen Duc Loi, made important contributions to the 4th "Patria" International Conference on Information and Communication, which took place from March 17-22 in La Habana, Cuba.

At the meeting of Ministers of Information and Communications and Heads of Delegation, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi emphasized the need for an urgent strategy to enhance the role and voice of media agencies in the Global South. To break this dominance, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi proposed a comprehensive strategy, focusing on the following factors: Raising people's awareness of multi-dimensional information, encouraging critical thinking and the ability to analyze information. Creating diverse information content, reflecting reality - ensuring diversity in views and perspectives. Diversifying communication channels.

At the same time, develop the capacity of reporters, journalists and content creators and build networks of connection and cooperation.

Delegates attending the workshop also highly appreciated Dr. Dinh Quynh Anh's presentations on sharing experiences in building and training a team of journalists in the digital age and strategies to respond and solutions to combat media manipulation and fake news.

Within the framework of the workshop, the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association had bilateral meetings with Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Deputy Head of the Ideological Department Maryde Fernández López and President of the Cuban Journalists Union Ricardo Ronquillo Bello. The two sides discussed measures to promote information cooperation between press and media agencies of the two countries, contributing to strengthening the special solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

In addition, the delegation also met with President of Venezuela's Telesur television channel, Patricia Villegas Marín, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba and laid flowers before the statue of President Ho Chi Minh .

The 4th International Conference "Patria", which brought together more than 400 guests from 47 countries, provided an important forum for discussing the challenges and opportunities in the global media sector, especially from the perspective of the countries of the Global South.
