From early morning on July 19, when the sun had not yet risen above the mountain top, officers and soldiers of Regiment 764 gathered in full at the Hong Phong block area to begin their mission.

According to the plan, the unit coordinated with the forces of Que Phong commune to organize the pouring of concrete on the traffic route serving the people. The road section to be constructed is 150m long and 5m wide, requiring a lot of effort from the soldiers and people. Based on the pre-assigned tasks by the unit commander, each department and individual quickly carried out the assigned tasks.

On the road, a team of many officers and soldiers focused on cleaning and dredging ditches, while another team transported planks to form the roadbed. Meanwhile, the majority of the force focused on transporting materials, mixing mortar, and directly pouring concrete onto the previously leveled road surface...

In an atmosphere of excitement and solidarity, the army and people urgently carried out their work, determined to complete the road ahead of schedule to avoid the rain when storm No. 3 was approaching the shore. As noon approached, the sun became more intense, the air was hot, everyone's face was red, sweat soaked their clothes. However, no one complained, the tired people took the opportunity to drink water, eat a package of sticky rice prepared by the people, then returned to work.

The force, including soldiers, militia, and civilians, worked through lunch until almost mid-afternoon to complete the concrete pouring for the road. When asked, Private Tran Khanh Duy shared: “I am very happy to participate in the field trip to help people build new rural areas. It is only the first few days but I feel that the affection of the people for the soldiers is very precious. I will promote my sense of responsibility and contribute my efforts with the whole unit to carry out many meaningful tasks.”

It is known that the field trip of Regiment 764, Nghe An Provincial Military Command in the mountainous commune of Que Phong will last for 2 weeks with many different tasks. The focus will be on pouring concrete, repairing and clearing traffic routes...
