According to preliminary statistics from the Command Committee for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of communes, damage was recorded in many areas, including housing, transportation, agriculture , public infrastructure and personal property.
Regarding housing, a total of 40 households had their roofs blown off; the most serious damage was concentrated in Nam Tuan commune with 18 houses, Thuc Phan ward with 12 houses; other localities such as Minh Tam, Canh Tan, Bach Dang, Tan Giang and Nung Tri Cao also recorded a number of affected houses.
The landslide occurred in the positive slope area behind the Provincial General Hospital housing complex, Group 11, Tan Giang Ward with a landslide volume of about 200m³, posing a potential safety risk if not handled promptly. Nam Tuan Commune was affected with 0.25 ha of corn crop broken.
Traffic infrastructure also suffered a lot of damage. A fallen tree blocked Highway 34 at Km48+100, causing temporary obstruction, but authorities quickly fixed the problem. In Doan Ket hamlet, Nam Tuan commune, a section of the bridge railing was broken by a large tree falling on it.
Natural disasters also affected many cultural works and public infrastructure. 52 trees on the roads were broken. The electrical system was affected by a tree falling on the low-voltage power line in Nung Tri Cao ward, Tan Giang, causing a short-term local power outage. An electric motorbike of a resident in Pac Bo street, Nung Tri Cao ward was damaged by a fallen tree.
Immediately after the disaster occurred, the People's Committee and the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue of the localities urgently took action, directed the inspection, damage review and implementation of initial remedial measures. Specialized units such as tree management, electricity, traffic, etc. coordinated promptly, handled fallen trees, cleared roads, and ensured safety for the people.
Currently, localities are continuing to count the damage to have timely support plans, helping people soon stabilize their lives and restore production.
