Although not as famous as Moc Chau plum, the plums from Yen Chau land have a rich sweet taste and good quality. |
On June 10, at Phieng Khoai commune, Yen Chau district, Son La Provincial People's Committee organized a departure to bring "Son La Plum" products to Noi Bai International Airport.
Accordingly, more than 1 ton of plums from Phieng Khoai commune, Yen Chau district were purchased by Noi Bai Aviation Catering Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Aviation Catering Services Joint Stock Company to be used in meals on flights.
This is the second fruit of Son La (previously longan) to become a dessert served to passengers on Vietnam Airlines flights, contributing to enhancing the brand and value of local agricultural products.
Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong said that the process of production, harvesting and preservation of Son La's key agricultural products in general, and plum products in particular, ensures requirements on standards, quality regulations, food hygiene and safety, and conditions of the domestic and export markets.
The fact that Son La plum products have become meals of Vietnam Airlines is an opportunity to continue affirming the quality and brand of Son La agricultural products.
Promoting the potential and strengths of fruit tree development, up to now, the whole Son La province has nearly 85,000 hectares of fruit trees, with an output of over 452,000 tons/year; of which, the plum area is over 12,300 hectares, with an output of nearly 90,000 tons, with the harvest season from April to July.
