After the Ministry of Education and Training announced the score distribution and exam scores, many universities in Ho Chi Minh City announced the admission score (floor score) based on the high school graduation exam results.
Among them, a series of schools have a floor score of 15 - a threshold score considered low, a sharp decrease compared to previous years.
Schools that consider the floor score from 15 include: University of Finance - Marketing, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics - Finance, Hong Bang International University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology...
In particular, many schools have a floor score that has decreased by 1-4 points in some majors compared to last year.

Up to now, the sharpest decrease was recorded in the Veterinary Medicine major of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry (from 22 points to 16 points) and the Data Science major of Ho Chi Minh City University of Science - Vietnam National University (from 24 points to 18 points), down 6 points.
At the University of Natural Sciences, majors such as Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Science also recorded a decrease of 4 points compared to last year.
Similarly, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, the minimum score for the general high school graduation exam for all majors is 16 points, a decrease of 1-4 points in some majors compared to last year.
According to some experts, the main reason for lowering the floor score is because this year's exam score range is lower, and lowering the floor score is to facilitate enrollment.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung - Director of the Communication Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - said that this year the school applies a common floor score of 15 points for all majors (except for majors in the Health Sciences block that apply the minimum score threshold according to the Ministry's regulations).
Compared to last year, this year's floor score is about 1 point lower - this is an adjustment in line with the new admission regulations, and at the same time reflects the trend of a clear decrease in high school exam scores in many subjects to create more opportunities for candidates while still ensuring input quality.
According to the general plan, candidates will register their admission wishes on the system (unlimited number of wishes) before 5:00 p.m. on July 28.
From July 29 to 5:00 p.m. August 5, candidates pay admission fees online on the system.
The benchmark score will be announced before 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
