The major, directional issues of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have been identified with specific implementation roadmaps, and directed to be implemented in accordance with the actual situation. Activities to preserve and promote cultural heritage have been effectively implemented; press, media and publishing have had many positive changes; the fight against bad and toxic information has been carried out regularly and continuously with increasingly improved efficiency; the cultural industry and entertainment industry have shown positive signs of development with many unique and creative cultural products and activities.
In order to bring the cultural and entertainment industry closer and more closely to the public, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that more powerful products are needed. "In 2024, we have Anh trai vu ngan cong nong gai and Anh trai say hi. So what will we have in 2025? We need to think about it right now," said Minister Nguyen Van Hung.
At the online conference summarizing the work of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector in 2024 and deploying tasks for 2025 (held in December 2024), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed the need to replicate the model of the two above-mentioned concerts, because the two music events have been successful in conveying national culture in an easy-to-understand and close way to the public, especially young audiences. Ancient Cheo melodies such as Dao Lieu, the familiar image of Trong Com, to the simple, rustic lyrics of the three regions of the North, Central and South were all recreated before the enthusiastic reception and cheers of tens of thousands of audiences... proving that Vietnamese culture is rich and has a strong appeal. To elevate the cultural industry, it is necessary to "package" good values into accessible products to spread widely to the next generation.
USING CULTURE TO PROMOTE TOURISM
Vietnam tourism in the first 6 months of 2025 grew significantly, with 10.6 million visitors, up 20.7% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at about 518 trillion VND.
Praising the efforts of the entire industry, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism also raised the issue of cultural and tourism development needing to go hand in hand with digital transformation, with a tight, clear and transparent data system. Effectively exploiting the digital platform will help the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism create more diverse cultural products, reach a wider range of tourists around the world, contributing to promoting the image of the country and the friendly and gentle Vietnamese people.
In the last 6 months of the year, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will promote international cooperation in cultural development, especially cinema, such as working with India to produce the film Love in Vietnam . "Beautiful films about Vietnam will bring the country's image to international screens like CNN. That is an effective way for foreigners to know and visit Vietnam more," said Minister Nguyen Van Hung.
