A person who specializes in buying and trading vintage cars in Hanoi has just shared pictures of a nearly brand new 2012 Vespa PX125 motorbike, attracting the attention of car enthusiasts. Sharing with VietNamNet, Mr. Duc said that the motorbike has been sold to a customer in Hanoi for 250 million VND. The price of 250 million for a 13-year-old Vespa PX125 is considered to be twice the new price of the vehicle when it was first launched in 2012. And 3-4 times higher than the current price of used vehicles on the used motorbike market.
"The bike is 13 years old but still very beautiful. It is difficult to find a second 2012 PX125 on the market that is as original and new as this one. That is the main reason why customers are willing to spend money to buy this "super product", Mr. Duc shared. More specifically, according to the seller of the car, the customer bought this car not to use it for commuting but only to display it in a luxury apartment for viewing.
"The 2012 Vespa PX125 appears as a living classic work of art. Not a showroom display, nor used for daily transportation, the vehicle was ordered by a customer who is passionate about classic vehicles as an interior highlight in his apartment as a unique and individual decoration," said the seller. The thing that makes car enthusiasts “take their hats off” is the 100% original condition of this PX125. Although it is more than a decade old, the bike is still as new as if it had just rolled out of the dealership. The shiny blue paint is flawless, the handlebars, the instrument cluster, the rearview mirrors, the saddle, the rims… are all original and have not been restored, which is almost impossible for a bike model that was released in 2012. The saddle is still covered with the original nylon, as an affirmation of its incredible newness. The classic round headlight, high fender, characteristic small wheels, shiny stainless steel rear cargo rack… all create a perfect whole of the Vespa PX line, an immortal fashion icon of Italy.
For many people, spending 250 million VND to own a car that is more than 12 years old is difficult to understand. But for classic car enthusiasts, an absolutely original Vespa, kept in its original condition since the day it was manufactured, is a "treasure" that is not easy to buy even with money.
