According to scientists, the Earth's core is the deepest part of the blue planet. The Earth consists of 4 layers. Of which, the innermost core of the Earth is a solid sphere with a size equivalent to that of Mars.
Next comes the outer core, which is liquid rock. Next comes the mantle, which has the consistency of marshmallows. Finally, there is the crust, the outermost layer of the Earth and where humanity lives.
Many experts have conducted research on the Earth's core to decipher the mysteries of the deepest part of the blue planet. Through advanced techniques, technology and modern means, they have made important discoveries about the Earth's core.
Research by experts shows that the Earth's core is located at a depth of about 2,890 km and is about 2,260 km thick.
The Earth's core has a radius of about 1,220 km and is formed by liquid iron solidifying at the edge of the core. This core is less dense than pure iron.
Researchers speculate that some light elements also exist in the Earth's core, such as hydrogen, carbon and oxygen. These are called superionic states.
Scientists explain that the superionic state is a special intermediate state of matter that has both solid and liquid properties.
The Earth's core always maintains a temperature of about 5,500 - 6,000 degrees Celsius, which is higher than the surface temperature of the Sun.
