MU players turn their backs on Onana

Onana makes Trabzonspor debut.

According to MEN , many stars in the Old Trafford dressing room breathed a sigh of relief when Onana left, because having up to 4 goalkeepers in the first team squad could cause big problems for the club.

Onana was MU's number one choice in the last 2 seasons, but a series of consecutive mistakes has seriously reduced the confidence of the coaching staff and teammates. In particular, the disappointing performance in the match against Grimsby in the second round of the League Cup recently was considered the "last straw", causing Onana to be removed from Old Trafford.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper has decided to join Trabzonspor on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season. The deal does not include a loan fee or a buyout clause, but the Turkish side will pay Onana's entire salary.

In the remaining positions in MU's goal, Altay Bayindir - the starting goalkeeper at the beginning of the season - also lost significant credibility due to mistakes. However, he was still given the opportunity to start in the Manchester derby on September 14 by coach Ruben Amorim.

Meanwhile, 39-year-old goalkeeper Tom Heaton is not considered a suitable choice for Premier League matches.

MU were keen to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, contacting Emiliano Martinez and Gianluigi Donnarumma before signing young goalkeeper Senne Lammens. The new signing is expected to quickly adapt to Old Trafford.
