Khanh Hoa Nha Trang Port stops receiving domestic passenger ships, only receiving international passengers for 6 months for repairs due to serious degradation.
On December 28, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had issued a document agreeing to temporarily suspend operations at Nha Trang port. During the repair process, the port will not receive domestic passenger ships, so the locality is required to notify tourism agencies related to this type of ship to develop appropriate business plans during the suspension period.

International cruise ships will still be accepted. However, Nha Trang Maritime Port Authority in coordination with Nha Trang Port Joint Stock Company needs to develop a plan to ensure safety, security, and environmental sanitation in the port area to facilitate the pick-up and drop-off of international passengers by tender during the maintenance period.
Nha Trang Port was formed on the basis of receiving items left by the old regime before 1975, at that time only cargo ships under 3,000 DWT (unit of measurement of safe transport capacity of ships) were allowed to dock. Later, the locality borrowed domestic credit capital to upgrade the wharf to 10,000 DWT with a length of 172 m.
According to Nha Trang Port Joint Stock Company, the seaport area has seriously degraded after a long period of use, along with the effects of weather. In addition, the original purpose of the port was to load and unload goods, but now it has been converted into an international tourist port, so the infrastructure cannot meet the increasing demands of tourists and needs to be maintained.
