Ca Mau: Urgently draining water, saving nearly 2,000 hectares of flooded rice

On June 13, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Pham Thanh Ngai requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently inspect the entire system of sewers, dams, and pumping stations, thereby coordinating with local authorities to operate reasonably and effectively to drain water, prevent high tides, and protect crops and livestock.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province also requested the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district to urgently mobilize forces to pump water to drain flooded rice fields; review and strengthen dykes in areas at high risk of flooding and prepare a plan to avoid damage. In recent days, heavy rains have flooded nearly 2,000 hectares of summer-autumn rice in Tran Van Thoi district.
