"Lucky hand" with valedictorian
The "trio" of teachers at Kim Son A High School ( Ninh Binh province) who are admired by many parents and students for their high achievements in recent years are Mr. Dinh Cao Thuong, math teacher, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Du, physics teacher, and Ms. Pham Thi Chinh Ha, chemistry teacher.
The three teachers mentioned above directly taught Nguyen Thai An, a 12B1 student at Kim Son A High School - the female valedictorian of block A00 nationwide, in the recent 2025 high school graduation exam.
Nguyen Thai An became the national valedictorian with perfect scores in three subjects: 10 points in math, 10 points in physics and 10 points in chemistry. In addition to the intelligence and diligence of the student himself, he achieved these results thanks to the support of his teachers during his three years of study.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Du shared that the teachers and the school were very happy and impressed when An achieved 3 perfect scores of 10, becoming the national valedictorian of block A00. The above achievement is the result of his tireless efforts.
In addition to Nguyen Thai An, who just became the national valedictorian, in previous school years, the "trio" of teachers were also teachers who directly taught the valedictorians of Kim Son A High School. They included Tran Bui Xuan Du, class 12B1, who was the valedictorian of three groups in the 2016 national high school exam, Ninh Binh province exam cluster, and Bui Van Long, class 12B1, who was the "double" valedictorian of the 2019 high school exam in Ninh Binh province.
The valedictorian of three groups in the 2016 national high school exam in Ninh Binh province, Tran Bui Xuan Du, achieved high scores, specifically as follows: math 9.75; physics 9.40; chemistry 9.20; English 8.43 and literature 8.25. The total score of these five subjects was 45.3 points.
For the double valedictorian Bui Van Long in the 2019 high school exam, block A scored 28.10 points (math 9.6; physics 9.0; chemistry 9.5); block B valedictorian with 27.85 points (math 9.6; chemistry 9.5 and biology 8.75). Long was the candidate with the highest score in Ninh Binh province in the exam and also the candidate with the highest score in chemistry (in 2019).

Mr. Dinh Cao Thuong confided that the school's students' high scores in the annual high school exam are a source of pride for the teachers and the school. For the teachers who directly teach, in addition to joy and pride, there is also a responsibility to strive harder for the following years.
Revealing the method of producing valedictorians
In the 2025 high school graduation exam, teacher Nguyen Ngoc Du had 4 students scoring 10 in physics, teacher Dinh Cao Thuong had 2 students scoring 10 in math, and teacher Pham Thi Chinh Ha had 1 student scoring 10 in chemistry.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Pham Thi Chinh Ha said that all 3 teachers were chosen by the school to teach 3 natural subjects for the school's selective class. The joy was great but the challenges were also many, because although it was a selective class of a "village school", many of the students were very intelligent and good at studying.

According to Ms. Ha, the new curriculum emphasizes the development of capacity instead of simply imparting knowledge. Therefore, teachers need to regularly research and delve into difficult topics, especially helping students apply theory to solve practical situations and problems in accordance with the curriculum.
In addition, teachers need to pay special attention to explanation and argumentation skills. When teaching, teachers not only require students to give each correct answer, but also to explain why that answer is correct and make a strong argument based on the theory they have learned.
Finally, focus on practicing test-taking skills. Teachers should guide students on how to read the questions carefully, identify the main requirements, important facts and keywords to avoid going off topic. Along with that, students must regularly practice with sample tests compiled according to the orientation of the new education program so that they are familiar with the structure and level of requirements.
"All of these things not only help students develop comprehensively in knowledge and capacity, but also create a solid foundation for them to confidently enter the upcoming important exams. Students who want to achieve high scores need to have solid knowledge and understand the nature of the problem. For teachers, when giving exercises, they need to be more closely related to reality. Besides, they should also change the teaching method to make it easier for students to access the exam questions," Ms. Ha revealed.

Teacher Nguyen Ngoc Du confided that in his teaching process, he does not focus on grades but always tries to create the best teaching environment to help students develop comprehensively in knowledge and personality.
“Innovate methods, improve the quality of education, do not focus too much on scores, create a positive environment, and inspire students' passion for exploring nature,” said Mr. Du.
According to Mr. Du, physics is a subject related to natural phenomena and life. Therefore, when teaching, it is necessary to bring problems related to reality in nature and life, so that students will like and be more passionate about the subject than boring "soulless" solutions.
In the past school year, in addition to 4 students achieving 10 points in physics, Mr. Du also had 3 students win first prize in this subject at the Ninh Binh provincial excellent student exam for the 2024-2025 school year. "This year, Nguyen Thai An achieved 3 perfect 10 points in the high school graduation exam, which is a miracle because the exam questions for all subjects this year were very difficult. To achieve 3 perfect 10 points, you have to study all subjects equally. For An, the results truly reflect this student's ability," said Mr. Du.
