Start checking food safety for Lunar New Year 2025 nationwide

Lunar New Year is the time of year when food consumption is high, especially meat, fish, eggs, cakes, candies, alcohol, soft drinks, oilseeds, etc.
To meet market demand, many food production and trading establishments have increased production, trading, and food imports. In addition to the humid weather in the North and the hot weather in the South, these are weather factors that greatly affect the assurance of food safety and quality.

To ensure food safety during the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2025, serving people to celebrate Tet and enjoy Spring safely, the Central Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on Food Safety issued Plan No. 1751/KH-BCĐTƯATTP on ensuring food safety during the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2025.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha and the city's interdisciplinary food safety inspection team inspected Tops Market Le Trong Tan supermarket (Thanh Xuan district).

With the common goal of ensuring food safety in the production, processing, trading and use of food; strengthening control and promptly preventing the production and trading of fake and poor quality food; ensuring safe food consumption on the market; preventing food poisoning during the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival 2025.

The plan was issued with many specific goals such as minimizing food poisoning cases during Tet; strengthening inter-sectoral inspections from the central to communal levels, focusing on product groups consumed a lot during Tet and festivals with high risk factors, food processing villages, provinces with border gates, and large cities.

The plan focuses on activities: communication, inspection... In which, the Central Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on Food Safety established 5 interdisciplinary inspection teams to inspect in 10 provinces and cities. At the local level, interdisciplinary inspection teams were established at all levels, from provincial to communal level. The implementation period is from now until March 25, 2025 nationwide.
