Provincial Party Committee Organizing Committee offers incense to commemorate heroic martyrs

On July 19, a delegation of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee organized a journey to the source, offering incense and flowers to commemorate heroic martyrs at Truong Son Martyrs' Cemetery, Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery and Quang Tri Citadel.

The delegation was led by comrade Le Dinh Ly - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board. The delegation included comrades: Le Truong Giang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board; Ho Dang Tai - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board; Ho Sy Nguyet - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, and other officials of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board.

At Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery, the resting place of more than 10,000 martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, the delegation respectfully offered incense and observed a moment of silence to commemorate the great contributions of the heroic martyrs - the outstanding sons who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Next, at the Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery, where the remains of martyrs who fought on the Road 9 battlefield and in Laos are gathered, the delegation respectfully bowed before the souls of the soldiers, expressing the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", expressing gratitude to those who devoted their youth to the cause of national liberation and international friendship.

At Quang Tri Citadel, the immortal symbol of revolutionary heroism with 81 days and nights of heroic fighting and sacrifice in 1972, the delegation offered flowers and incense at the Central Memorial and lit candles in gratitude at the Citadel grounds - considered a "cemetery without tombstones" for tens of thousands of martyrs.

The trip is not only a meaningful activity on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), but also an opportunity for officials and civil servants of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee to review revolutionary traditions, foster ideals and responsibilities, and contribute to educating today's generation to live and contribute worthy of the sacrifices of previous generations./.
