Arsenal takes two 15-year-old 'prodigies' on tour

Arsenal continue to show their long-term vision in youth training when deciding to include Max Dowman and Marli Salmon, both only 15 years old, in the list of 30 players to tour Singapore and Hong Kong.

Arsenal took many young players on tour to Asia this summer.

Alongside the two promising faces, coach Mikel Arteta also welcomed a series of quality recruits including Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard. In contrast, the 48.5 million pound contract Noni Madueke will be given a rest after competing with Chelsea at the Club World Cup. The 23-year-old winger will join the "Gunners" when the team returns from Asia.

Arsenal are scheduled to play two matches in Singapore: against AC Milan (July 23) and Newcastle (July 27), before travelling to Hong Kong for the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur (July 31).

Among the young faces, Max Dowman receives the most expectations. This attacking midfielder is not yet 16 (birthday in December) but has been invited to train with the first team many times and was present at the winter training camp in January.

Last season, Dowman scored 19 goals and provided five assists in just 23 games for Arsenal's youth teams. He also set a record as the youngest scorer in the history of the European Under-17 Championship, netting for England U17s against the Czech Republic U17s in May.

Dowman was given the number 56 shirt for this tour. Coach Arteta did not hesitate to praise his student: "He is a great talent and can completely be included in Arsenal's new season plan."

The arrival of Dowman and Salmon not only excites fans, but also confirms Arsenal's youth development strategy - which is the "DNA" that has made the London team successful in the long term.
